Title: High-Performance Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements in Richlands and Lynchburg, Virginia
Contact: H. Celik Ozyildirim
Project No.: 54177
Target Date: 09/17/2007
Abstract: The objectives of this study are (1) to develop concrete mixes that have low shrinkage and high flexural strength. (2) to assess aggregate particle shape using a video grader; (3) to determine the material properties of high-performance concrete, including compressive strength, flexural strength, elastic modulus, coefficient of thermal expansion, permeability, and drying shrinkage; (4) to continuously monitor the speed of the paver and the frequency of the vibrators; (5) and to investigate the effect of an increased amount of steel on cracking.
