| Abstract: |
The Research Council is leading a study to inventory previous experiences with Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) technologies within Virginia. In addition to compiling relevant historical records, the study also includes a performance assessment of the previously installed SMA projects. A regimen of tests is also being conducted on current placement activities to establish a baseline for future performance assessment. The data from these parallel activities will be used to contrast the earlier design and construction practices with those being applied during the contemporary SMA deployment. |
